What an experience on Saturday. To everyone who started the ride on this bus, we were so focused and having such a lekker time, the comments and encouragement from the coach made this all possible. To Faheem, hopping on at 8km, after coming 15minutes late and chatting on his phone like it was a casual jog and Sharmil, who hopped off and must have felt lonely, and returning to the bus at 10km, this was really magical. At 13km I felt like my hips and ankles were not functioning anymore. But, the bus kept moving and brought us all home safely as you can see the excitement of the finishers. Can’t wait to get on the Knysna bus…….

My daughter Mishka flew down from JHB especially to run with us this past Saturday. As you probably know she ran 2 other practice runs with us whilst visiting , the 1st from Rhodes to Constantia Nek & back, her first ever road run & the 2nd from Constantia Nek to the bottom of
Chapmans Peak & back. She does a bit of mountain biking so is reasonably fit but because she enjoyed the running so much her husband decided to look up a running club in Sandton where they live & found one but she decided against joining that club as she wanted to run for Itheko and wanted “to run with uncle Brey” which she did on Saturday and was over awed …The “power of the bus” brought 9 of us in under 2 hours & Mishka was ecstatic to finish the race and has now enrolled for the Knysna Half marathon. As her dad I don’t mind as long as I can see my little girl as often as possible & running is doing it for me!!!

Thanks to the wonderful coaching team ,executive committee & running comrades
    making all of this possible.
